Detailed itinerary
DAY 1: MY THO – BEN TRE – CHAU DOC
- 07:00 – Hotel pick-up, depart for My Tho
- 08:30 – Arrive in My Tho, 15-minute stop at Mekong Reststop. Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda – a large, old pagoda blending Vietnamese, Khmer and European styles
- 10:00 – Motorboat on the Tien River to Thoi Son islet: pomelo garden, bee farm, honey tea and royal jelly; traditional đờn ca tài tử music, tropical fruit; see Ben Tre coconut candy being made
- 12:00 – Hand-rowed boat through small canals, lunch with fried elephant-ear fish; free time after lunch to stroll the village or cycle country lanes
- Afternoon: transfer to Chau Doc, check in at a 3-star hotel. 19:00 the guide takes the group to dinner and free time to explore Chau Doc
- Tra Su cajuput forest: motorboat through the forest ecosystem, switch to a rowing boat along the canals and climb the viewing tower for a panorama
DAY 2: CHAU DOC – CAN THO
- Breakfast at the hotel, visit Lady Xu Temple, Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Tay An Pagoda and Vinh Te canal; views of Cam and Ket mountains and Khmer pagodas
- Lunch at Tra Su restaurant, then on to Can Tho and check in at the hotel
- Dinner on a 5-star cruise; free time at Ninh Kieu wharf to enjoy local food
DAY 3: CAN THO – FLOATING MARKET – MY KHANH – HCMC
- After breakfast, visit Cai Rang floating market: trading from boats, rice-noodle making and river specialities
- Visit Truc Lam Zen Monastery – the largest in the Mekong Delta
- My Khanh tourist village: free time and lunch; stop at the Purple House (ticket includes a free drink)
- Arrive in HCMC around 18:00, end of trip
